FROZEN   a play by Bryony Lavery

SYNOPSIS:
One sunny evening, ten- year old Rhona goes missing. Her mother Nancy, must cope with her daughter's disappearance and retreats into a state of frozen hope. Agnetha, an American academic, comes to England to research a thesis entitled "Serial Killing: A Forgivable Act?". Then there's Frank, the kidnapper, a loner with a bit of a past, who's looking for some distraction. Agnetha asks - "was he truly responsible for his actions, or were they beyond his control?" ………These three strangers - drawn together by horrific circumstances - embark on a long, dark journey, which finally curves upward toward the light.

What the critics have said about the play in London and on Broadway:

"A major play….thrilling, humorous and timely"
The Times

"Bryony Lavery's big, brave, compassionate play about grief, revenge, bearing the unbearable and …… forgiveness"
Guardian

"Consistently suprising and even bravely comic - the almost thriller-like promise of the play's climactic confrontation is like a time-bomb ticking in the back of your head"
Independent

"Makes you see the complexity of the issues, clinical as well as moral. Makes you also feel the loss, the pain and the unbearable waste….One of the best plays in recent memory"
Talking Broadway
